Christmas in New York

This Christmas I got to live a dream.  Our family experienced New York at Christmas time.  It was everything you would imagine it to be and more.  I loved every second.  New York has my heart and I can't wait to live there one day. Enjoy a little video of highlights from our trip.

Parents surprised us with a Limo pick up from the airport.

Harbor Cruise around the City.

Georgetown Cupcakes, A.K.A Heaven!

How we stayed warm- hot chocolate.

New York pizza at the famous "John's Pizzeria".  Delicious!

Ice skating in Central Park.

We practice as figure skating partners in our spare time.  Nice form.  Right?

Held my hand the entire time so I wouldn't fall.  Sweet brother.

Happy as can be in Central Park.

Highlight of the trip, seeing New York City Ballet perform Balanchine's "The Nutcracker".  Magic!

Maybe not the healthiest but the best breakfast we had in New York.  Doughnut Plant.

 911 Memorial.

Branson made a new friend.

Dinner at our favorite restaurant.  Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill

My cute mom in front of our apartment for the week.  Also known as my dream home.
Neighbors to the famous Hells Angels.  Safest neighborhood for a reason.  Too cool.

Sorry for the picture overload!  Just too many good memories to pick from.

I love to see the Temple.

It has been a busy, productive, exciting and wonderful week. January 19, 2013 is a day I will always remember.  I will remember it as the day I went to the Temple.  The day I made sacred covenants with my Heavenly Father.  And the day I got the tiniest glimpse into the blessings and happiness this gospel has in store for the true and faithful.
This week while preparing to enter the Lords house I felt curious, excited and very anxious.  It dawned on me that I am growing up. I am an adult.  This is so very real and of eternal importance.  I thought of the song "I Love To See The Temple" often.  It seemed just a few years ago I was singing the beautiful song in Primary thinking it would be "FOREVER" until I went to the Temple.  Well "forever" came a lot faster than I thought it would and I was not going inside "someday" I was going inside today,  And I am so glad I did. The Temple is an incredible place and I can't wait to return.  I am always in awe of the love and blessing Heavenly Father gives his children.  I am so grateful for this simple and true gospel.  I know it is true.  I am grateful for my opportunity to share it.  Life seems so real right now.  I seem to be gaining a greater understanding of what is of eternal importance and should take priority in my life.  God loves his children and wants them to be happy.  I hope we can always remember that.

This week was also exciting because one of the studios I work at had their winter concert.  This year we put on the production "Peter Pan".  It was a fantastic show!  I loved seeing my sweet students on stage.  They made the cutest "Lost Boys" I have ever seen.

Here are a few pictures of some of my students and the adventures we had backstage.

And as always my students spoil me rotten! I only wish I hadn't made the New Year's Resolution to only eat sweets on holidays....

Girls Night

Every wonder what the girls do when they get together?  Maybe this video will give you a little taste of what a girls night looks like.

nicaragua.

Much has happened the past couple months.  Long story short, I have decided to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  I LOVE this Gospel, I KNOW it is true and I MUST share it.  I enter the Guatemala Missionary Training Center May 1 where I will prepare to the serve the people of Managua, Nicaragua in the Spanish language.  I have about a million things running through my mind at any given point of the day.  I wonder how I can leave my family, friends, plans, job, music, dance, students and so many other things.  I then think how could I NOT leave all of that to find my brothers and sisters in Nicaragua that are searching for the truth.  How could I, who has been so completely blessed, not go share this message of peace and happiness with those that are feeling lost.  I feel so grateful to be a part of this work.

I just wanted to say that today I am extra grateful for my best friend Lauren.  I lucked out landing her as a friend.  She is the greatest example to me everyday.  She is the kind of friend that will drop anything and everything to be there for you. She is the kind of girl that will attend the Temple with you.  She will talk to you for hours and hours about silly things, as well as things of the most importance.  She will stay up late, listen to music, go crazy and have dance parties with you.  She is the kind of friend that will put up with a weirdo like me!  I love this gal.
