I feel quite guilty for not posting last week!  However, I have a pretty decent excuse.  Last week was the annual Bushman Reunion.  This year it was planned and hosted by my family.  Meaning we would be housing 40 people for the week.  It was absolute madness at our house!  Constant laughter, music, games and my personal favorite, food!  I think it is safe to say we all had a blast catching up with cousins, renewing relationships with Aunts and Uncles and of course indulging in my Papas famous peanut butter candy.  I am unbelievably blessed to have such a wonderful family.  I couldn't ask for better examples in my life.

The Olympics!!  Hooray!  I think the Olympics are simply incredible.  Every time they come around I seem to find a new sense of motivation.  The story these Olympians share is breathtaking.  The hard work, struggle, dream, defeat, success and endurance they experience is the ultimate example of never giving up.  To go after a dream so full heartedly is something they will never regret.  We all have the same opportunity, the opportunity to go after a dream and never back down.

This week I was lucky enough to teach a Princess Dance Camp.  It was a blast!  We learned about all the Disney princesses, danced, had a tea party, colored ball gowns, leaped over magic carpets, sang and ultimately had a Grand Ball.  All the beautiful young "Princesses" I taught were giggly and excited.  We had a wonderful time together and they in return taught me a lot.  Several of the activities we participated in involved having a partner.  What a fresh breath of air it was to see the young girls run to one another and ask to be friends.  Not one girl felt embarrassed or nervous to ask a fellow classmate to be their friend.  Oh how I miss this!  When did I grow up, complicate things and let life get in the way.  These girls reminded me why we are told to be "childlike".  The innocence, happiness and simplicity I saw in each of these girls is exactly what I want.  It is time to get back to the meaningful things in life.

Today I attended one of my best friend's mission farewell.  As I was sitting in the congregation surrounded by my friends, and listening to this young man speak about the privilege of going on a mission, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmingly blessed.  I am so lucky to have the friends that I do. Friends that are willing to leave their families for two years and serve the Lord.  Friends that make me better because of their example.  Friends that make me smile and laugh so often I feel like I've had an AB workout after spending time with them.  I don't think friends come any better than mine.  Good Luck Elder McKenna!  You have changed my life for the better and I know you will be an incredible missionary.

One of the studios I am working with this summer has made Dr. Seuss the theme of their summer session.  In preparation for my classes I have read several Dr. Seuss books/quotes.  As a result I have absolutely fallen in love with everything Dr. Seuss!  Here are a few of my favorite quotes I have come across.

It's almost here! Over the years the 4th of July has made its way to the number one spot on my favorite holiday's list.  I have fallen in love with the barbeques, the sparklers, the watermelon, the sun, the poppers and the summer night sky brought to life by explosions of color.  I hope you all have a lovely 4th!

President Monson always seems to have beautiful quotes that say exactly what I need to hear.  My newest favorite quote of his says "Don't save something for a special occasion.  Every day of your life is a special occasion."  Now that summer has hit and life has slowed down for a few minutes, it has become easy for me to coast by day to day.  After reading this quote I felt completely guilty for not making the most out of my time each day.
Make the time count because it goes by too fast. And once it is gone, you can't get it back! Decide to make today meaningful and memorable!

P.S. The blog has over gone a makeover, as I am sure you can tell. Let me know what you think!
